Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club is the ideal setting for your Florida holiday. An immaculately maintained, peaceful and secure gated community with both residential and rental homes set around the stunning golf course. Southern Dunes is currently ranked as No. 17 public course in the U.S.A. and No.6 course in Florida. The clubhouse has a restaurant and bar and is the perfect place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner (Friday and Saturday evenings) or just unwind after an enjoyable round of golf. All needs are catered for; whether you require a full meal, light snack or just a refreshing drink. A children's menu is available. On Sunday there is a breakfast buffet, which is sure to satisfy even the largest appetite. Evening meals are served on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. The restaurant is open 7 days a week: Breakfast (see menu) 7:00am – 11:00am (except Sunday 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. breakfast buffet), Lunch (see menu) 11:00am – 5:00pm, Dinner (Friday & Saturday) 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The bar is open until dark every evening with a Happy Hour from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (this includes 2 for 1 draught beers). On-course service is not forgotten, as there is a beverage cart, which patrols the course on a daily basis - fully stocked and ready to serve you as it cruises around the course. If you have ever considered having a wedding at a golf course, the scenic and natural setting of Southern Dunes can provide the perfect backdrop for your special event. The entire restaurant is able to accommodate up to 120 people and still have room for a dance floor.Conveniently situated off US Highway 27, about 7 miles from Junction 55 of the I4. It is within 20 minutes drive of Walt Disney World and about 1 hour from Busch Gardens and beaches. As well as the superb golf course, there are also tennis courts, a children's play area,library and fitness suite. Situated just outside the gates, within walking distance from Roowood you have the convenience of supermarkets (24 hour WalMart and Winn Dixie), shops, restaurants, a bank and petrol station. Just 10 minutes away is the newly opened Lake Eva Park, 321 South 6th Street,with children's play areas, tennis courts, and Aquatic Center. The new Aquatic Center consists of a competition pool, kid's activity pool featuring a 20 foot water slide and a splash pad area. The water park is open weekends only from 12:00PM - 6:00 PM. Admission costs $3.00.
I would strongly recommend that you give Manny's Chophouse a try. It is a real favourite both with the locals and visitors. For your convenience I have put a menu in our home so that you can phone ahead and reserve a table.
